The Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce is always looking for volunteers (student & adults) year-round. We try to match each volunteer with work that fits their time schedule and interests.

Internships Opportunities:

  • During the Summer: For students during the summer, we offer 5 hour shift community service internships from 10AM to 3PM and requires a 3 days a week minimum.
  • During the School Year: For students during the school year, we offer volunteer hours during week between the hours of 3pm and 5pm. You are welcome to com earlier if you are available.
  • Adult Volunteers: We welcome your help any time during the hours of 9am & 5pm.
  • Events: Assisting office staff with event coordination throughout the year (Oktoberfest, Golf Classics, Art Walk, Installation & Awards Dinner and other additional fund-raisers)

Tasks and assignments include, but are not limited to:

  • General Office Work: Filing, phone calls, mailers, etc.
  • Events: Assisting office staff with event coordination throughout the year (Oktoberfest, Golf Classics, Art Walk, Installation & Awards Dinner and other additional fund-raisers)
  • Website & Facebook (Out-of-Office Internship): Keeping all information updated as requested by the Executive Director. This can be done from home, but the student must meet with office weekly to go over recent changes and updates for the website and Facebook page, as well as be receptive to call from the office between 3PM to 5PM during the school year and 12PM to 5PM during summer for daily updates and changes. Since this volunteer task can be done at home (unsupervised), it requires a responsible and reliable student. Students who apply for this position with 2 teacher recommendations (teachers we can contact) will be considered over students who do not have recommendations. An additional recommendation from a school counselor will up your chances.
